It's Been A While

It's been a while since I've posted anything, could be because I haven't been stitching much. I've been so busy with a sick kid and spring break vacation that I haven't been stitching much. I miss it.

This is March of the Blueladie Designs SAL. I had originally thought I would make a 15 sided biscornu but when I saw the words I had to go with it. Still thinking I will stitch these again since they are quickies and make the biscornu. The colors are so pretty and the fabric is a glittery yellow.

This is the Sweet Flowers SAL by Angie Designer. I am a little behind on this but hoping to get caught up soon. This is the first part. Waiting to receive the next section.

Grand Marquoir

I had started Grand Marquoir ages ago but I had started it on 28 ct. before I knew what over 2 meant, lol. That was nuts so I've started it over on 18 count. Loving it. The first pic shows the colors I was originally going to use. Decided the pale color was too light and switched it to a gold.
Neither picture shows the colors good but I'm happy to be finished with "A"

Finished OakHaven Owl SAL

I have a few finishes this week but only one of them is cross stitching. I have finished the OakHaven Owl SAL. I loved this! SALs are my favorite thing. I have a few I'm doing this year. Now that this one is finished I can start on the others.

My hubbys grandma loved doing puzzles. I've been thinking of her alot this week and bought a set of 10 puzzles. I got 2 finished this week. Both of them had 300 pieces so they weren't overly big. They are so pretty. I am pretty sure I have seen these in cross stitch form. I don't think I would be brave enough to attempt that. Way too many colors and confetti for me, lol.

No Crazy Challenges for Me

Happy New Years everyone. There are so many doing crazy challenges this year but I've decided not to. I have a trillion things started and plan to start a trillion more this year but I DON'T want to do them all at once. I'm not that organized to do that, lol. I do plan on working in as many SALs as I can so if you know of any pass them my way :) For those that like blog giveaways Sarah at http://craftymoo-sarah.blogspot.com/2012/01/my-new-year-january-give-away.html is having a huge giveaway. Check it out, it is worth it :)

WINTER QUAKER

I started this last year and just finished it. I find myself so eager to start new projects that I don't get many finishes in. One of my New Years resolutions is to finish some of these projects I have lying around here. We'll see how that goes, lol. I am a serial starter....

This is by San-man Originals called Winter Quaker. I really wish you could see the fabric in person. I think it fits this piece well. It has shades of mauve/purple. I'm thinking I used a tea to dye it. It was a fun stitch.

**EDITED**Cory's birthday, a SMO finish and my first dishrag

Cory's birthday was Friday. I took him a personal pan pizza and ate lunch with him and played on the playground then brought cupcakes later in the day. We had a good time together. We had his party Sunday. I thought this cupcake cake would be idea and it wasn't SOOO learn from my mistake. These were so messy. The icing was everywhere. There was literally enough icing for another cake.

Here is a small finish from SMO. I'd like to make it into something special. I think I'll look through my ribbon and make it into wrap for a candle jar.
Here's what I came up with for a candle wrap. I think it turned out pretty good for just an idea, lol. My fabric was too small to go around the jar so I pieced it together with some ribbon. Thinking now I want a new wrap for every holiday.

My daughter came home from school one day wanting to crochet. Like always she gave up so I thought I'd try again. I watched a few videos on youtube and made this dishrag. It could def. be better but I'm proud of my first try. Cory liked it so much he wanted 2 so he cut this one. Nice huh???

Me and some Old finishes

I've been too lazy to get the pictures off my camera, mainly because I thought I'd have a finish this week. Since I didn't I decided to go ahead and upload my pictures.

I always wonder what my friends look like. As most of my groupers know I am now a member of weight watchers. This first picture was taken the day after I started 9/3/2011. Now mind you I HATE having my picture taken and I had no makeup on and my hair wasn't fixed. Cory was playing with my camera and this was the result of it. I kept it as a reminder of where I started.

Here's a head shot I took 10/27. I dyed my hair a dark brown after I took this. I've lost 15 pounds to date and can't tell much but in my face. So here I am :)
Here's my little cowboy for Halloween. He has the mean cowboy look down pat, lol. This was taken at his school Halloween party. He was waiting in line for the school parade and said he was bored. I love my little cowboy :)
On the stitching front I've finished these a while ago. The first is the seasonal SAL from Novalee. Looking forward to the last one so I can hang it on the wall.
And this is the Oak Haven SAL. I have November all ready to stitch, just haven't had the time to do any stitching this week. Hopefully I'll get it done this week.
That's it, nothing too exciting. Hope I'll have a few finishes to share next week.
