Snow and first finish of 2013

A while back we had a ton of snow. Took Cory and my nephew Austin sledding at a friends house. Sharing a few pictures with you. I LOVE Corys hat. It always makes me smile :)

And this is my first finish of 2013. It was a freebie in the Blueladie newsletter. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to stitch it on black and make a biscornu. Green is also my favorite color. Not sure about the big bead in the middle. It was from a necklace we used for Halloween, it broke and I am a packrat....need I say more, lol.

More Winter

Cory loves helping his papaw build things. Today they built a bird feeder. That was perfect since I bought feed a few days ago and didn't have a feeder. Here's some pics of the birds enjoying the new feeder.

 Pine tree
Here's the new feeder along with a bird house my dad made last year and a block Cory tied a rope too. He said the birds can step on it if they get tired flying. LOL

Snow

Over the last few days we have gotten a ton of snow. I think it was 13.5 inches Christmas night and 4 days later we got another 6.5. That's more snow than I like, but thankfully it isn't freezing out. I'm sharing some pics for those of you fortunate enough not to have any :)

Just so you can get an idea how deep it is...

End of the Year and Exchanges

I have finished the last part of my Blueladie SAL. I just love each month. It was a fast stitch each month and the colors are so pretty :)

In my stitcherhood yahoo group I participated in an Ornament exchange. I LOVE this ornament that Tonya sent me. It is oh so cute on my tree. The socks are cozy comfy too. I love socks :)

Here is the ornament I sent her. It was a fun stitch. I mess up on this ornament but think I covered it pretty good. I was tired and couldn't figure out how I was going to make it. I only know a few ways to make an ornament since I don't stitch. I went around it, stuffed it and finished it off then I realized it had no hanger. I tried everything then I remembered I had crop-a-dile. It worked wonderfully and I love the way the hanger looks :)

I am dying for Christmas so Dustin can get his new wedding band. It was supposed to be for our 15th wedding anniversary but the lady babysit for never pays like she should so it is now a Christmas gift. My husband is a simpleton so I'm not so sure he will like this. He is a mechanic and the look reminds me of a hose clamp. Cheesy I know. The picture looks like there is white in it but it is really all black with a basket weave look in the middle. I have told him ahead of time that one present may not suit him well and if he doesn't like it he can exchange it for something else. He thinks it is a new jacket, lol.

Great day for stitching

It was a cold cold day today and perfect for stitching. I got the first part of the Novalee SAL finished. Looking forward to the next part.

Only one more part of this SAL to go. I love monthly SALS, although they do make the months fly by.
This one I finished a while ago but forgot to share (I think). It was a SAL offered by http://crocettando.wordpress.com. I'm not sure how I will finish this one up. It was a great piece to have in my purse available for those days I was actually early to an appt.
I also started on my Ornament for an exchange. Can't show pics until it is finished and received but I'm loving it and think I'll be stitching it for myself too.

I enjoyed stitching today and hope to some more tomorrow. Thanks for looking.
