Snow

Over the last few days we have gotten a ton of snow. I think it was 13.5 inches Christmas night and 4 days later we got another 6.5. That's more snow than I like, but thankfully it isn't freezing out. I'm sharing some pics for those of you fortunate enough not to have any :)

End of the Year and Exchanges

I have finished the last part of my Blueladie SAL. I just love each month. It was a fast stitch each month and the colors are so pretty :)

In my stitcherhood yahoo group I participated in an Ornament exchange. I LOVE this ornament that Tonya sent me. It is oh so cute on my tree. The socks are cozy comfy too. I love socks :)

Here is the ornament I sent her. It was a fun stitch. I mess up on this ornament but think I covered it pretty good. I was tired and couldn't figure out how I was going to make it. I only know a few ways to make an ornament since I don't stitch. I went around it, stuffed it and finished it off then I realized it had no hanger. I tried everything then I remembered I had crop-a-dile. It worked wonderfully and I love the way the hanger looks :)

I am dying for Christmas so Dustin can get his new wedding band. It was supposed to be for our 15th wedding anniversary but the lady babysit for never pays like she should so it is now a Christmas gift. My husband is a simpleton so I'm not so sure he will like this. He is a mechanic and the look reminds me of a hose clamp. Cheesy I know. The picture looks like there is white in it but it is really all black with a basket weave look in the middle. I have told him ahead of time that one present may not suit him well and if he doesn't like it he can exchange it for something else. He thinks it is a new jacket, lol.

Great day for stitching

It was a cold cold day today and perfect for stitching. I got the first part of the Novalee SAL finished. Looking forward to the next part.

Only one more part of this SAL to go. I love monthly SALS, although they do make the months fly by.
This one I finished a while ago but forgot to share (I think). It was a SAL offered by http://crocettando.wordpress.com. I'm not sure how I will finish this one up. It was a great piece to have in my purse available for those days I was actually early to an appt.
I also started on my Ornament for an exchange. Can't show pics until it is finished and received but I'm loving it and think I'll be stitching it for myself too.

I enjoyed stitching today and hope to some more tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

Halloween Finish & KYK SAL

Wow it's been forever since I've been on here. I haven't stitched much so there hasn't been anything to show.  Today I had a burst of energy so I cleaned the house and finished the latest 2 squares of my SAL and finished Jack by OakHaven Designs. It was nice to get some finishes in. Hope to get more soon.

Newest Project

What's that you ask? Tara has a new project?? I know, no way right. This time its not a stitchy one that I'll be showing you. Its the middle/my sons/the guest bathroom. A while back I painted it orange. Not sure why. Orange isn't my favorite color. I just wanted something different and was sick of nasty mobile home wall paper and didn't want white. I loved it. It really brightened up the room. Hubby on the other hand hated it and told me he was embarrassed to have people use that bathroom. So he decided since it was too hot to do anything outside (104ยบ) we would redo the bathroom.
Here's the before.......

Pulling up the floor we found this disaster :( Yes that is rot and mold. NOT good. The floor by the toilet was so weak that when my skinny husband stepped on it there was obvious sinkage. I sprayed it down with a lot of bleach and Dustin headed to town to get more wood.
Here is the after. The walls are a blueish gray called going gray, lol. We redid the floor, bought a new cabinet for the wall, a sink and cabinet, a faucet, toilet paper holder and a hand towel holder. After I took the pics I had Dustin get a new register and it looks so sharp and we have went around the edges of the tiles with bath and tub caulking. It looks nice. Will take a new pic later...Total cost of project minus the new plywood for the flooring and the new register was $330. We bought the cheapest of everything. Love it and ready to do my bathroom. I can tell a major difference in how bright the orange made the bathroom and will miss that but I love the look of the black floor and the cabinets.

Finished Cleaning the House by L*K

Cory had a T & A on Monday. I wanted to take something small and easy to work on so I picked Cleaning the House by L*K. I love the saying on this and plan on stitching it a few more times. It took less than a week to stitch.

Finishes and Kids

I've been working on a trying to get some oldies finished and have finally finished this SAL from Novalee. It was from last year so its not too old but still feels good to have one less thing lying around unfinished. I have washed and ironed it and it's all ready to be framed.
I have also finished June of the Blueladie SAL. The colors are sooo pretty on this one. Love it.
I got this great exchange a few days ago from Kaghos. I love everything! The beads, ribbon and buttons are so pretty. The fob is awesome and my first and the ornament is so me. Thank you so much!

This is what I sent her. The biscornu was a freebie from cyberstitchers.
We had both kiddos graduating this year. Quincy graduated from High School. I am so proud of her. She is an awesome kid. Here is a picture of me (with my newly cut hair), her and Cory.

Have to include a picture of her dad. He's so silly.
Cory graduated from Kindergarten. The kids had a little play called E-I-E-I Oops. Corys part was a cat. It was so cute. He had a tail and every time he would sit down he would grab the tail and act like he was shooting people. Yep, that's my boy.
Here he is with his diploma.

Thanks for taking a peek :)
