Dec. 13, 2010

I was doing laundry the other day and heard Cory laughing. I walk into the kitchen to see an a-cat-robat, lol. He kept jumping on the bike and flipping over the handlebars. What a funny cat :)

I got this beautiful Angel from a dear friend Penny. I LOVE her :) Green is also my favorite color ever. This picture doesn't do her justice. The white is sparkly. She's just beautiful and something I'll treasure always!

Finish and Winter

I've finished the My Little Heart Sal! I love this and can't wait to see what else she comes out with :)

Here's some winter pics. Had lots of snow yesterday. Cory and I had fun in it. It was a great day to play in the snow since it wasn't uber cold out, unlike today. This little guy and some of his buddies had fun too!
Ahhh my baby :) He loves the snow.

November 21, 2010

There won't be a lot of talking today, just pictures. I have a killer headache and am ready to hit the hay so here we go....

This is part one of WxsW Halloween sal by Helga Mandl. I'm too late for this Halloween but it will be ready by next.

OakHaven's 2010 Monthly Sal. These things make the months FLYYY by.

These next 3 are from Oak Haven Design. This is the first time I've finished an ornament like this. I think it turned out pretty cute. BTW this wasn't the original way I had planned to finish it. Sometimes my minds eye is craftier than my hand and I have to fix mistakes. Sometimes they work out in my favor and sometimes they don't.

Anniversary Shopping, Bloomers and Halloween

Hubby gave me a $50 gift card to Michaels for our anniversary. Here's some of the goodies I bought. Took Cory with me and he ended up with a bunch of junk too. Won't do that again, lol.

I had been making something for my cousin who was due in December but decided I wouldn't have anything finished and changed my mind twice. Then I decided on these bloomers. I didn't get them finished in time for the shower (or the birth since she was 6 weeks early) but I did get them done in time to give her at the hospital. Her baby was born on Halloween. Still working on the birth samper but not in a hurry now.
I'm taking a flatfold class and chose this pumpkin made by Sandy of Sanman. Stitched it on the aida that I dyed. Love them both. Can't wait to do a flatfold, it will be my first.

Got alot done today and was cleaning out places I haven't seen in ages. I
didn't have much left to finish it when I lost it forever ago. Some dear child of mine stuck it in a book then put it in Corys room on his bookshelf. SO happy I found it and got it finished. I LOVE it. It was designed by Carla Rizzie.
And lastly here are the kids at Halloween. Quincy and Dakota wanted to dress up so they went as older versions of the other, lol. At one point we had lipstick on Dakota. He looked so funny (and a little odd with his facial hair).

That's it for the monthly addition of Tara's Junk :)

Odds and ends for your viewing pleasure

This is our newest furbaby Smoky. This cat is hilarious.
Cory and Smoky sleeping. Ignore the couch :)

I had hoped to have this finished for a baby shower. Um it didn't get done so I'm shooting for the actual date of birth now, lol

So since I knew I wouldn't finish the first one I thought maybe I could get these done and nope didn't do it. All I needed was one more day. Still not finished since I'm not in a huge hurry, lol

And this is a sal from Helga Mandls yahoo group. I'm working on this now so I can get the next part, lol.

Dying (Aida that is)

I've seen so many beautiful dyed pieces lately so I thought I'd so some too. This first batch is using orange, yellow and purple rit dye. I made the batch a long time ago and kept the extra in juice bottles in my laundry room. I put what I wanted in bowls and reheated in the microwave. We have a ton of the medicine droppers so I used them to apply my colors. I wadded and folded each one differently. I'm loving how they turned out, especially the purple.

This one I used Coffee and Tea. I used the old coffe grounds plus a new scoop and added a few tea bags. I heated this in the oven afterwards and almost cooked it too long, the dark spots in the top left are burn marks, ooops :(

So I wanted to try different teas. These are Lipton Green Teas in flavors. I used once cup of boiling water to 3 tea bags. I was hoping the purple acai and blueberry would be blue but nope its not. The color isn't the greatest but its a faint yellowish color.

This one is Lipton Green Tea Orange, Passion Fruit and Jasmine. Its almost the same color as the blueberry one.
This is Lipton Green Tea Cranberry Pomegranate. I love this one. The color is great and the way I had it folded left some really cool patterns in the middle.

It was tons of fun. Really makes me wish I had more aida. The Coffee and the one that had all three colors was done on an Ecru color or something like that. I bought it at a yardsale dirt cheap. It had a musty smell to it and to my surprise the smell is gone :)

Exchanges Sent

These are the ornaments I sent my partner, Carein, for the krafters Korner Christmas in September exchange. I love the way they turned out. Both are freebies found on the net. The frog can be found here (aliloka.blogspot.com) and the Snowman can be found here. It was in the Dec. 2008 Hearts Desire Newsletter. Snowman's Quaker Christmas is designed by Midnight Stitching.

Terrifying Tuesday updates a day early

My computer is in the shop and I'm afraid I won't be able to do my terrifying Tuesday update so I'm doing it today. This is Happy Haunting. I love it and think it is perfect with the fabby Cory and I dyed.

Here is my monthly sal from Oak Haven Designs. This sal is closed but Tonia does have awesome sals and great freebies. Find her on yahoogroups.

Witch Silhouette and Dye

Heres my weekly update on Witch Silhouette. She is coming along slowly.

Cory helped me dye these. I am using them on some Halloween charts. Not too wirl about the purple spots, but Cory had fun helping so I'll love them always.
